2nd Edinburgh Taiwan Film Festival 2012

The Edinburgh Taiwan Film Festival will return on campus in University of Edinburgh on April 28th and 29th. The festival aims to showcase new and upcoming non-mainstream Taiwanese Films to local Edinburgh audience, to facilitate culture exchange between Taiwan and Scotland, showing films to local audience.

On April 28th we are showing films to introduce films about minorities in Taiwan, screening feature films, including “Everlasting Moments”, “The Fourth Portrait” and “Go Granriders”. We also screen with film quiz to light up the mood in between screenings. Following by brilliant short film and animations selections “Intoxicant”, “The Lighthouse”, “A Piece of Cake” and “Time of Cherry Blossoms” create dreamlike ambience inside the space.

The second day will screen the issues under controversy in Taiwan nowadays. Not only to bring the contemporary Taiwan to abroad, also evoke Taiwanese to give new consideration to history of Taiwan.

Each of the selected film will show the unique Taiwanese culture to the audience, selected carefully by their universal themes as well as interesting subject such as life of Indigenous people, situation of and single parent family, status of care for elderly, from award winners from Taiwanese film festivals.
